About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Compliance team as an Assistant Team Lead – Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD). In this role, you will support the EDD Team in overseeing the end-to-end due diligence process on high-risk clients and entities. You will also be responsible for reviewing complex cases, mentoring junior analysts, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory expectations.

Your Mission

Conduct and review enhanced due diligence investigations on high-risk customers, including PEPs, high-risk industries, adverse media, sanctions exposure, and complex corporate structures.
Support the EDD Team in managing daily team operations, workload allocation, and performance tracking.
Review and provide quality assurance for EDD cases completed by junior analysts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Assist in the training, mentoring, and development of new and existing team members.
Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and Business Units to escalate and resolve high-risk issues.
Monitor regulatory changes and contribute to updates in internal EDD procedures and risk assessment frameworks.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance team efficiency.
Prepare reports and dashboards for senior management and regulatory reporting purposes.
Act as a point of contact for complex queries and provide subject matter expertise on financial crime risks.

Your Profile

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 5 years of experience in EDD, AML, KYC, or Financial Crime Compliance in a financial institution or consultancy.
Strong knowledge of global AML/CTF regulations (e.g., FATF, FinCEN, EU AML Directives, etc.).
Experience handling high-risk customer reviews, including corporate entities, trusts, and offshore structures.
Proven ability to interpret and analyze complex information, including legal documents and beneficial ownership structures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with screening tools and case management systems.
Certification in AML (e.g., CAMS, ICA, ACAMS) is strongly preferred.
